Review: Erno Laszlo Detoxifying Cleansing Set

Hey loves! Influenster selected me in November to be apart of the Erno Laszlo VoxBox. If you are not familiar with Influenster, it is a community of over 2 million social savvy shoppers that stay on top of the latest product news, review products, share honest opinions, and test products for free based on social media influence according to the influenster site. I was excited to be trying out something new other than makeup because I am also a skin care junkie and believe good makeup applications first begins with good skin care.

Product Description:

The Detoxifying Cleansing Set came with a bottle of Detoxifying Cleansing Oil and Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar. The set also comes in sensitive, hydra-therapy, and firmarine.

Detoxifying Cleansing Oil

The oil claims to eliminate toxins, exfoliate the surface of your skin, and reduce large pores while deeply cleansing impurities and makeup for a clear, balanced complexion.

Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar

The Laszlo-original Cleansing Bar raves that the therapeutic benefits of Dead Sea mud helps to detoxify, exfoliate, and hydrate skin.

* The set included a sample packette of Transphuse Eye Refiner (1 ml) but I do not feel that I used the product enough to give my honest opinion on it.

Directions (from the Erno Laszlo site):

Gently massage a generous amount of oil in small circular motions on dry skin. Massage over face and jawline to open pores and trap dirt and makeup on the face. Next, dampen cleansing bar under warm water. Gently massage the wet bar over your face using the rounded corners to stimulate circulation. You can also use your hands and fingertips to create a rich lather as well, remembering to include the delicate area of the neck. Rinse with warm water. Blot skin dry. Follow with toner, treatments and moisturizers to match your skin’s needs.

My opinion:

At this point I have been using this product for a month and I feel that I can leave a detailed review on what I think of it and how I feel about the set. The first thing I noticed when I opened the set was the cute box it came in. I know, I'm a girl and a sucker for pretty product packaging. In the section that the soap was in, there were small holes that would allow the water from the used bar of soap to drain out of when you placed it back in the box which is convenient.

The oil (pictured above) is dark and reminded me of hand soap with regards to the texture. When I first applied it to my face I was hesitant because it was so oily and at the time I started I was dealing with oily skin (my skin at this moment of me writing this is now dry). I followed it up with the cleansing bar which honestly was a little messy. I wouldn't suggest that you use it in a white shirt because the black from the oil and bar could get onto your shirt, even if you're being careful. I then massaged both products into my face in a circular motion for a few minutes and rinsed it off with semi-warm water.

I was incredibly impressed with how soft my face felt and it reminded me of how my skin feels when I use my body scrub. After a month I can say that I like the product and I do believe it has helped in aiding to keep my face blemish free along with my other steps I do in my skin care routine. The product retails for $28.00 and a little does goes a long way.

I give this product a 4/5 because I do tend to have sensitive skin so I think the sensitive skin set would have been a better match for me.

Disclaimer: I did receive this set for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review which I stand behind 100%.
