Review: Carli Bybel Palette (14 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette)

by - 4:35 AM

Hey hey hey!

It's been a while and by a while I mean a week. Sorry! I planned to upload this last week but ended up getting busy and well, you know how that goes. Any who, I am so excited to bring today's review to you because you all know I love a bargain and the palette I am sharing with you today is just that. It is none other than BH Cosmetic's Carli Bybel Palette (first edition).

Many of you probably have heard of the new palette that recently came out which is the Carli Bybel Palette Deluxe Edition. Basically, it is this palette on steroids. While everyone was out buying the new one, I decided to stop by Ulta and snag this for $14.50 because savings are LIFE, mmkay. Honestly, I had been wanting to try it out for a while and couldn't resist the new budget friendly price. If you don't know who Carli Bybel is, she is a popular beauty influencer in the Youtube community. Carli collaborated with Bh Cosmetics to design this versatile palette of earthy neutrals and plummy browns with four highlighters that complement every skin tone. Some of the benefits/claims stated by BH Cosmetics are that the palette is vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, allergy tested, and clinically tested. I think it's safe to say (pun intended) that it shouldn't cause any harm if used the right way.

So whats the TEA? Can my dark skin sistas' use it or nah?

I found this palette to be very WOC friendly. I use an eyeshadow base with mine so the pigmentation was good for me. The colors really look great on dark skin and the two gold highlights on the end are seriously GOALS especially for the price. This is more of a neutral everyday type of palette so I wouldn't suggest it for those who may be wanting something more bold. However, if you are a mom having to do 5 minute makeup, college student on a schedule,  a business woman not trying to be to flashy but still cute, or just someone trying to ease into eyeshadow with neutral tones, this is for you.

A few of the gold colors resembled each other which was fine to me because that just meant I had an eyeshadow shade to match my highlighters. I went to a birthday party the other day and ended up using it for a quick gold smoky eye and I loved the way it came out. For the price, I would say this palette is worth purchasing. It was my first time purchasing a palette from BH Cosmetics but I would love try out some more products in the future. Let me know what looks you like to create with this palette in the comments, if you own it.

I created a cut crease on my Instagram this week using only this palette so head over there to see more pictures and get the details on the full look. If you are reading this post within the first few hours, all the pictures haven't been posted yet so I'll share a sneak peak with you. Shhhhh.

I have a few reviews, tutorials, and post request that I would like to get out this month and I am currently waiting on my box from Influenster aka I am waiting for the mailman "at the doe" every day. Ha ha! For real though, I cant wait to share my voxbox with you all. Hope everyone has a great beginning to this new month.

xoxo,
    Kels

  5. The swatches came out really well and so did the makeup look. I've always wondered if the hype around this palette was worth it. Glad to know that it is! I might have to end up trying it out next time I'm in Ulta.
